As leader of a round table discussion on the theme of “Regions and Cities”, Hugo had the unique opportunity to engage with and collaborate with his peers.
This was one of twelve topics on the curriculum, split into three broad objectives to be implemented by 2030.

The aim was to establish sustainable and collaborative strategies within each category. The involvement of both professionals and academics enabled concrete ideas and proposals to emerge, proposals that could be implemented gradually into our daily practice.
In Hugo Gagnon’s words: “We are on the brink of great change; our industry must welcome innovation at a faster pace. The goal is to embrace this opportunity to act as drivers for change.”
The summit allowed politicians, investors, architects and designers to pool their resources and envision a future where cooperation is key – collective knowledge in service of tomorrow’s architecture.
The end-game was ambitious but essential: architects and designers face these issues on a daily basis within their practice. These are problems that must be addressed now, in the present; issues that inspire innovation as much as they question the status quo.
