In 2008, in response to recent increase in its use, the Metropolitan Transportation Network (AMT or RTM) (EXO in 2018), along with its parent agency ARTM, decided to build several maintenance workshops to enhance its public transport service.
Covering an area of 30,000 ft² each, these workshops will serve for the mechanical inspection of two train tracks of up to 10 cars.
Similar in design, each building adapts to the specifics of the site on which it is located, sometimes accompanied by other required programs, such as technical pits.
Their construction combines the objectives of reduced consumption and energy recovery to enable long-term savings.
