The project rehabilitates the former Mabe appliance factory site that is in proximity to the port and its important transportation network. The existing buildings (450,000 sq.ft. dating back to the beginning of the century) have been completely renovated to accommodate several interconnected warehousing spaces, administrative offices, and coworking spaces, which intend to supply all of the future outlets across the province.
In 2021, the company's new mandate of automating its warehouses gave us a specific design challenge. It involved adapting the existing infrastructures, reinforcing the slabs to support the compression caused by the high capacity storage areas, optimizing available space, and increasing productivity through programmed and accelerated actions.
