The cool aluminum and glass cladding is a bold statement within the historic neighbourhood, contrasting the red brick of adjacent buildings.
Beyond the 200 hotel rooms and suites, guests can make use of six conference rooms, a lounge, a restaurant and two bars. The rooftop bar is particularly noteworthy, spilling out on to a terrace offering stunning views of Ottawa’s skyline and countryside.
Eschewing standard hotel conventions, such as check-in desks and grand lobbies, Andaz aims to draw a younger, more tech-savvy clientele.
The project has been featured in several publications, including being shortlisted for Wallpaper*’s Best Urban Hotels prize and winning Canadian Interiors’ Best of Canada Award.
